Club Deportivo Ultra Trail Sierra Blanca (CDUTSB) from Marbella has successfully raised over €4,500 in just 16 days, enabling six-year-old Aray, who has mobility challenges, to receive his Joëlette Adventure chair. Thanks to the generosity of many, Aray will be able to enjoy nature and participate in mountain trails just like any other adventurer.
This 5th of January, Aray will have not just three but dozens of “Wise Men” who made his dream of exploring the mountains in his new chair a reality. The CDUTSB members are thrilled by the support received and hope this will be the first of many chairs to help other children with mobility challenges enjoy the mountains.
Although the main goal has been achieved, the crowdfunding page will remain open at https://gofund.me/c5fda521. Any additional funds will be donated to a foundation researching Sanfilippo Syndrome, the condition Aray faces.
CDUTSB will continue championing inclusion in mountain racing and is already planning an event specifically for those with similar conditions, scheduled for 2026. Aray's story is just the beginning of a journey filled with solidarity and hope.
